Representatives of St. Johns County, the Friends of A1A and project consultant GAI, asked Historic City News to invite our readers to attend an Open House meeting for an upcoming project along the A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway.

Grant funds for a Northern Gateway Sign were awarded in 2007 through the Federal Highway Administration National Scenic Byway program. The project is currently being designed for the Byway.

This Public Open House will be Monday, November 30th, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library (PGA Conference Room), located at 101 Library Boulevard.

The Northern Gateway Sign will be located along State Road A1A in Ponte Vedra.

The sign is anticipated to be complete by December 2010.

The A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway is a 72-mile section of State Road A1A from the St. Johns/Duval County line south to the Flagler/Volusia County line.
