Apartment fire quickly contained

Jeremy Robshaw reported to Historic City News this afternoon that shortly before lunch, St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a commercial structure fire at Moultrie Apartments; 2250 Old Moultrie Rd.

Upon arrival, crews found an apartment complex with smoke showing from one apartment unit.

Firefighters made entry into the structure and quickly contained the fire to one room. The fire damage was contained to the single room with heat and smoke damage present through the rest of the unit.

Three individuals were evaluated on scene for minor smoke inhalation. One patient was transported to Flagler Hospital in good condition, while the others were evaluated but declined transport.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by SJCFR.
