Historic City News has learned that a 51-year old former St. Johns County resident was arrested on charges of capital sexual battery and lewd and lascivious behavior today stemming from incidents that occurred over a year ago.

Kevin Kelshaw reported that Jack Eugene Allen Jr., 51, no known address, was booked into the County Jail where he is being held without bond.

Special Victims Unit Detectives began an investigation nearly two months ago after a female victim brought allegations of inappropriate conduct against Allen. The incident occurred when Allen resided in the northwest sector of the county between 1 1/2 and 2 years ago.

The investigation led detectives to obtain an arrest warrant for Allen July 2, however, his whereabouts were unknown. With assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Service, Allen was located in Ocala where he was picked up for the warrant and brought back to St. Johns County today.
