It is natural for government to see our Constitution as limiting, that is it’s purpose, it protects each and everyone of us from excesses of government, and, the excesses of democracy.
The fact that an act may be the will of a majority does not preclude that it may be an act of tyranny. Democracy has been guilty of many evils, when our Constitution was ignored.
No law, no act of congress, or presidential decree, that violates our Constitution can be allowed to stand.
