Operation Street Sweeper: two more apprehended

Historic City News learned that two more have been arrested in the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office sweep of street-level drug dealers.

Deputies arrested Jimmy Dee Wells, 48, of St. Augustine on Friday on suspicion of distributing cocaine. Wells was being held Saturday night in the St. Johns County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

They also charged Mark Alan Scheideman, 21, of Jacksonville on Friday with selling marijuana. Scheideman was being held Saturday night in the St. Johns County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Deputies are seeking or have charged a total of 55 in the initiative, called Operation Street Sweeper.
