Historic City News local St. Johns County reporters find three inmates booked into the St. Johns County Detention Facility yesterday with higher-than-usual appearance bond requirements — each over a quarter of a million dollars.

First, 43 year-old Manuel Sosa, who is reported as a Pomona California resident, tops the list — charged with financial crimes of fraud and swindle as well as one count of unarmed burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. Total bond required for release, $570,000.00.

Next, 26 year-old Charleston Lamar Caroll, who is reported as a St. Augustine resident, is second highest on the list — charged with financial crimes of fraud and swindle as well as one count of unarmed burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. Total bond required for release, $390,000.00.

And, finally, 21 year-old Michael Reese Croyle, who is also reported as a St. Augustine resident, is in third place on the list — charged with burglary, larceny, damage to property and criminal mischief. Total bond required for release, $262,500.00.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Kevin Kelshaw told Historic City News that the Sheriff’s office will take custody of arrestees from other state or federal agencies and will make arrests on warrants obtained by other agencies pursuant to outside investigations.

Kelshaw did not have copies of the reports leading to yesterday’s criminal arrests.

hmmm maybe St. Johns is needing money and hopes they will jump bail. this isn’t the first time I’ve seen an unusually high bail – in fact looking at the history/rap sheet on that guy who just murdered the school teacher, he at one time had a $250,000 bail.

Also, one last thing – why wasn’t he in prison? Just looking at his record from St. John’s county – he has a horrific rap sheet. And it looks like he’s been in trouble in Texas too. We have an 18 YO here who is going to be tried as an adult for stealing a $5 pair of sunglasses!!!!…and TIMOTHY DALE ROSE has been skating free for years. What is wrong with these judges?! I mean, this is just his record in this county – lord knows what record he has in other States and other counties.
