Looks like St. Augustine’s finest was hard at work before the close of the midnight shift yesterday.
According to booking records, at about 11:25 last night, SAPD officers arrested three drifters with no known address who now find themselves guests of the St. Johns County taxpayers at the Cross-Bar Hotel.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office feels that by providing educational materials to motorists as they enter DUI/Safety Checkpoints, the agency is achieving its commitment to highway safety by using both public education and enforcement measures; deterring impaired drivers and motorists from violating the traffic laws of this state.
Although appearing as Item 22 on the Consent Agenda for yesterday’s Board of County Commissioner’s meeting, the celebration of naming the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center overshadowed the resolution to approve execution of an employment contract on behalf of the County with Patrick F. McCormack.

According to booking records at the St. Johns County jail, Morris Steinheimer was arrested near the intersection of A1A Ocean Avenue and A Street by officers with the St. Augustine Beach Police Department about 2:15 on Saturday, March 29, 2008.
