The St. Johns County Historic Resources Review Board has announced their plans to Historic City News for a special ceremony on Friday, June 27, to celebrate the unveiling of a new state historical marker at Sanksville Cemetery in the Bakersville area.

North Shores Improvement Association member Sacha Martin reported to Historic City News this morning that Vilano Beach Main Street will be hosting the annual 4th of July picnic and scooter-bicycle parade this year on the new and improved Vilano Road. Martin says that this will be the first event showcasing the beautifully landscaped Town Center.
Planning for the commemoration of the city’s 450th anniversary will start with a community kickoff event set for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25th at the Flagler College Auditorium, according to an announcement received by Historic City News this morning from Cathy Dupont in the city’s Office of Public Affairs.
