Spanish students restore Flagler College murals
Liz Daube reported to Historic City News that students from St. Augustine’s sister city – Aviles, Spain – are getting a chance to use their art restoration skills on Flagler College’s historic dining hall this summer.

Volunteers for beach cleanup sought
Keepers of the Coast, a local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting coastal stewardship and conservation, reported to Historic City News that they are recruiting volunteers for the 1st annual “Morning After” Beach Clean-Up.
2009 Tourism Employees of the Year
Historic City News was informed today that Henrietta Wilson (left), a server at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, and Lynda Brown, a history teller at St. Augustine’s Old Jail, have been named as St. Johns County’s “2009 Tourism Employees of the Year”.

City authorizes plaza artists settlement
Attorneys for four Plaza artists, who recently won a temporary injunction in federal court against the city’s ban on selling visual art, have offered to settle that case for $52,000 in attorneys’ fees and $2,500 in “nominal damages” for each plaintiff.
